Non league opponents 

Brora Rangers. are a Highland league club, who were visitors to Gayfield for a  Scottish cup 2nd round tie in 1956/57. The match was won 6-1 by Arbroath. Brora play at Dudgeon Park.

Dalbeattie Star. are a club from the south west of Scotland. They play at Islecroft Stadium and compete in the South of Scotland league. Dalbeattie, near Dumfries played hosts to Arbroath in a Scottish cup 1st round tie in 1983/84. Arbroath were the victors by 5-1.

Fraserburgh. known as the `Broch` are members of the Highland League. They play at Bellslea Park . The clubs met in 1999/2000 in the Scottish cup 2nd round at Gayfield where the visitors earned a replay after a 0-0 draw. The subsequent replay a few days later was won by Arbroath 3-1.

Gala Fairydean.  a borders club who compete in the East of Scotland league, who drew 1-1 when they entertained Arbroath in the Scottish cup 2nd round in 1992/93. The replay was postponed at half time due to frost with Arbroath winning 3-0, as the referee considered the conditions to be getting worse, and the players to be in danger of injuries. When the abandoned match was replayed, Arbroath won 2-0.

Rothes. are another Highland league club who play at Mackesack Park. In the 1956/57 Scottish cup 1st round they traveled to Gayfield but probably wished they hadn't, as they were defeated 10-2.

The Arbroath side that day was Williamson, Milne, Gray, Rattray, Anderson, McLevy, Gunn, Kirkwood, McGrory, Vandermotten, Sharp. 

Goals were by Kirkwood 2, McGrory 3, Sharp 2, Vandermotten 2, Gunn.

Selkirk.  another club from the borders who were drawn at home to Arbroath in the 1993/94 Scottish cup 2nd round. The match was played at Ettrick Park, where they play their East of Scotland league matches, and Arbroath recorded a victory by 3-0.

Spartans. are an Edinburgh club who play their East of Scotland matches at City Park. It was at this venue the 1996/97 Scottish cup 2nd round match between the clubs was contested. The 0-0 draw , meant that a replay would be required and in this match at Gayfield, Arbroath recorded a 3-0 win. The clubs were drawn against each other again in 2003/04 in the 3rd round at Gayfield. The non league side produced a magnificent display and ran out worthy 4-1 winners
