Northern League and Scottish Qualifying Cup.
1894/95.
The disagreement between the clubs carried on to this season, with no league competition. A very poor qualifying cup campaign made this a very disappointing season for followers of the club.

1895/96.
The league resumed with the 8 team format, and Arbroath were denied the title by one point by Forfar Athletic. A run to the semi final of the qualifying cup was some consolation though.

A 2-0 victory over Dundee in the Forfarshire Cup Final at East Dock Street Park in February however had made this a reasonably successful season.
1896/97/98.
These two seasons are probably best forgotten, as poor league campaigns with an equally poor qualifying cup record.
