1891/92.

Arbroath opened their league campaign, which would see them finish 5th, with a 4-4 draw against Harp (Dundee) at Gayfield.

1892/93.

This season saw the league increased to 10 teams, and also the new Qualifying Cup. The league competition was particularly successful for Arbroath, as they won the title by a point from East End of Dundee.
