 The club once again failed to reach the standard for survival in the top league, and were relegated after the one season.

This time they would stay, until league reconstruction once again put them out of the top division 3 seasons later

When the three league set up began, Arbroath were in the 1st Division, which was really the second, as the Premier League was the top flight. And I always thought premier and first meant the same !

Arbroath spent the next five seasons in the '1st Division', before being relegated again.
